M-Audio's Hammer 88 Pro is a premium USB-MIDI keyboard controller, with 10 octaves and 88 fully weighted keys. It has a USB connection as well as 5-Pin MIDI, which makes it suitable for use with virtual instruments on a computer, but also with external MIDI devices.

The Hammer 88 Pro features M-Audio's new Smart Chord and Smart Scale technology. These features open up help you easily express your ideas using your device. Making music on your computer has never been more intuitive and inspiring thanks to these workflow-focused features.

With Smart Chord enabled, pressing a single key or key will play a full chord instead of a single note. The key or pad you press will determine the root note of the chord. The rest of the chord properties (major, minor, etc.) are determined by the settings you choose. Smart Chord also has a custom function that allows you to specify the chord structure to be assigned to each key by playing manually.

Smart Scale technology allows you to set the keybed so that only specific keys can be played in the selected scale. This allows you to play in a selected scale without the risk of playing the "wrong" keys. You can choose from 16 different scale variations when assigning a scale to the keyboard. Smart Scale is easy to turn on and off and lets you set the scale parameters you need to keep you focused on creating.

The Hammer 88 Pro has built-in features essential for creating contemporary pop, electronic, hip hop and dance music. Note Repeat and built-in Arpeggiator open up a world of precise music production and live sound techniques to make your music look professional.

Note Repeat allows you to hold down any of the specially designed M-Audio pads and hear a repeating rhythmic pattern in a selectable note division. The Note Repeat function can be activated momentarily or used in Latch mode. If you select Instant, holding down the Note Repeat button will automatically repeat the note played by the keyboard. If you select Latch, pressing any pad will start repeating the pressed key, without having to hold down the Note Repeat button.

The built-in Arpeggiator will affect anything you play on the keys from any virtual in your DAW. When the Arpeggiator is on, the keyboard will repeatedly play the pressed keys in sequence. The time and tempo of the arpeggiator are based on the time division setting of the keyboard and the tempo setting of the keyboard or DAW. Each note in the arpeggio will have the length you selected for the time division setting. For example, if you choose 1/4, each note in the arpeggio will be a quarter. This powerful tool can operate in Latch or Momentary mode, making it easy to match your style.
